Built by the retiring Lighthouse Keeper in 1929 and bought from the Lightkeeper's daughter in 1988 to become the Lightkeepers Guest House
Comments From our Guest Book: "Six
days ... every day a beach day ... not to mention a sunset kayaking
trip, ATV's on Portsmouth Island, eating on the screened in porch,
wonderful dinners out, a little local shopping, and for our last night,
a lovely sunset schooner cruise!
"This
has been the best thing I've done for myself in a very long itme. This
island and this house have given me a kind of tranquil feeling I
thought I'd lost in the hustle and bustle.
"
The only other house that can "hug" you as this one can, I grew up in
during the 50's and 60's. It's like being with an old friend, you are
immediately at ease here."
"
I've been to Ocracoke about 20 times and this has been the nicest place
I've stayed - tranquil and beautifully decorated. Wow, who knew? Truly,
this is Ocracoke's best kept secret!"
We are frequently asked a number of questions when we receive phone calls. Here are the questions and answers !
